19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev secured his first championship for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.

The Russian, a former number one, has experienced a challenging year, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with former trainer Cervara.

Now training with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This marks the player's first title after the Rome competition and first on a hard surface after March of 2023.

Success also indicates the Russian has secured 21 victories at twenty-one various competitions.

"It's the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters at once, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," commented ranked player the champion.

"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had lost his last six championship matches, including in Halle previously this season.

The player's counter-punching strategy and frequent outbursts on court had caused commentators to question if his ability to play at the elite level was finished.

But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform positively, supported by an better service.

He recovered from a break down in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, winning 4 of the last five games to go ahead.

Both players traded service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his initial tour victory, took control to force a final set.

Moutet saved four early-game chances in a competitive final set before the champion won the break to that score to close out the victory.

Fittingly, he secured the title with a rally at the net, with his opponent unable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
