Large-scale Russian Attacks Disrupt Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while residents in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and encountered interruptions to drinking water, according to city officials.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, according to area administrators.

Russian forces has intensified strikes on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the US, the EU and the G7 - in delivering air defence systems and implementing restrictions," was stated in a public message.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 missiles attacked energy facilities, labeling such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were laboring to repair systems.

A series of attacks hit power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people wounded in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, per statements from city authorities.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region came under significant strikes throughout the evening. A young boy was killed and several individuals were wounded.

The attacks come after nights of air raids in the area, sections of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to identify.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and authorities were anticipating additional strikes.
